I'm a small contractor from North Idaho and have been in business since 1985. It seems like every couple of years that this contractor licensing issue comes up again.
I feel like it's a waste of money and effort. It's an additional charge that I'll have to pass on to my customers and they will receive nothing in return, nor will I.
Large companies are able to absorb this cost more easily than the small contractor. So it may drive some small contractors out of business (this is probably the reason larger companies support licensing).
I also think the state shouldn't be licensing and policing small construction businesses. I feel the policing goes along with the licensing and this may bring on unnecessary litigation.
